On January 27, 2021, ChopValue, a circular economy franchise creating beautiful and durable products made entirely from recycled chopsticks, proudly announced its B Corporation certification, furthering its commitment to lead by example and address the issue of waste in the manufacturing industry.

In order to be certified as a B Corp, ChopValue was comprehensively audited on its overall impact in five areas: governance, workers, community, environment, and customers.

“Since starting ChopValue in 2016, we have built the foundation of our core business on the positive environmental impact we make, one chopstick at a time. We hold ourselves to a high standard — now verified — and are excited to set this baseline for our future Microfactories, further decreasing our carbon footprint with the first B Corp certified circular economy franchise,” said CEO and Founder Felix Böck. “Together, we will build stronger communities and create a healthier environment with our sustainable practices.”

Widely recognized as the gold standard for responsible business, B Corps are committed to using the power of business as a force for social, environmental, and economic good. ChopValue joins the growing B Corp network of more than 3,000 global companies like tentree, Allbirds, and Patagonia, as well as local investment fund Active Impact Investments, all of which are dedicated to leading with a purpose.

The company will continue to track, measure, and improve practices to build a more inclusive and sustainable economy while committing to becoming the most environmentally responsible manufacturing franchise.
