In our Sustainability and Climate Change practice, within our Risk Assurance Services, we work with some of the world’s largest and most complex companies to understand their unique business issues and opportunities in an ever changing environment. We help create sustainable change by stimulating innovation, unlocking data possibilities, navigating risk and regulatory complexity, optimising deals, and aligning costs with business strategy to create a competitive advantage.
Sustainability and climate change are at the top of the agenda for many organizations, but many are at different stages in understanding how they should respond. As part of our team, you’ll help our clients balance competing economic, social and environmental goals. We offer services to both public and private sector clients across a range of specialist subject areas. Our established team includes economists, natural scientists, engineers, finance and accounting professionals – working with some of the world’s leading organisations towards an economy with purpose.
What you’ll create and do
As a Senior Associate, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. PwC Professional skills and responsibilities for this management level include but are not limited to:
- Apply analytical skills and specialist knowledge with our world-class client base
- Contribute effectively to complex, multi-disciplinary projects – often supporting several projects at a time
- Helping our clients improve the way they operate, reduce costs, manage risks
- Support internal and external thought leadership
- Providing advisory services to household names in a diverse range of industries – everyone from big-name broadcasters to multinational banks, telecoms operators and energy companies.
- Supporting client deliverables in a timely manner
- Supporting and coaching junior resources
- Business development activities such as assistance in preparation of budgets and proposals and initiating marketing of services to new and existing clients
What you’ll bring to this role
- An interest in upskilling for a digital world and technology trends, an openness to learning new tools and adapting how you work
- A demonstrated commitment to valuing differences, developing and coaching diverse teams, and ensuring diverse perspectives are heard
- Considerable professional experience in any relevant sector including consulting, business, government or NGOs
- Hands on work experience in sustainability including: training and application of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), SASB and other relevant sustainability reporting standards as well as sustainability-related management systems, including ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, ISO 26000, and other systems
- Demonstrated experience with identifying climate risk, conducting scenario analysis, and impact measurement
- Foundational understanding of GHG quantification and carbon accounting
- Excellent critical thinking, intellectual curiosity and problem solving capabilities
- Strong research, analytical and report writing skills
- Demonstrated commitment to providing excellent client service, by building and maintaining productive relationships with both internal and external clients
- High proficiency with Microsoft Excel and handling large amounts of data
- Ability to maintain high standard to deliver projects/assignments on time
- Confident in establishing priorities, and monitoring project delivery and resolving problems
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of multi-disciplinary teams
- Strong personal initiative, agility and resourcefulness
- Excellent oral and verbal communication skills
- Based in Vancouver but will be expected to support work assignments across Canada
