The purpose of the Annual Giving Associate is to implement multi-channel strategies for donor acquisition, solicitation for entry-level gifts and strategies for gift renewal and upgrades which create a habit of giving on a regular basis. This includes direct mail, online fundraising, telephone fundraising, supporting third-party events, and assisting the Annual Giving and Donor Relations Team, as required.

About the Role:
As a member of the Ecojustice Philanthropy team, the Annual Giving Associate will:
Participates in, and follows development of workplans, budgets and strategic plans and monitors progress
- Providing administrative support to Ecojustice’s direct mail, online fundraising and telephone fundraising channels and other emerging platforms (e.g. peer-to-peer).
- Identifying and evaluating strategies for the recovery, acquisition, and retention of donors and subscribers
- Tracks annual and community fundraising revenue and expenses and monitors KPIs
- Proactively works to meet budgeted revenue targets and ensures that budgeted expenses are not exceeded
- Reviews Engaging Networks “send reports” for online campaign evaluation
Ensures accurate and efficient management of donor data:
- Prepare, segment, export/import and deliver data files to reach the target audience of the direct response program
- Create appeal codes, package IDs and upload backfeed file in Raiser’s Edge to ensure accurate allocation of donations
- Refresh and export queries and send updated trade file
- In collaboration with the Donor Relations Manager, set up link tracking for mailings, online campaigns
- Maintains the integrity of Raiser’s Edge by complying with policies and procedures for data collection and entry
Responsible for overseeing the creation and distribution of appeal materials and inventory items:
- Send copy and art for review by internal staff and collecting feedback for consultants, graphic designers and other suppliers
- Coordinate supplies (envelopes, holiday cards etc) to/from vendors
Support the execution of online fundraising appeals:
- Tailor online donation form content
- Create data requests for digital fundraising
- Segment data and send fundraising emails
- Reviews Engaging Networks “send reports” for online campaign evaluation
- Export data for reporting and analysis
Oversees the promotion of Third Party Fundraising Events and manages relationships with event organizers.
- In collaboration with philanthropy and communications staff, develop community fundraising resources for event organizers and community volunteers
- Promote third party fundraising initiatives and manages relationships to provide support and helps event organizers maximize the revenue potential of their fundraising events
- Ensure third-party events comply with Ecojustice fundraising policies.
Other
- Provides input to the development of annual and multi-year fundraising plans
- Assist with training, workflow and oversight of volunteer team assisting with community fundraising
- Provides administrative support to the philanthropy team
- Other responsibilities and duties as assigned by Ecojustice
About You:
Education & experience requirements
- High School Diploma, College Diploma or Undergraduate Degree
- A minimum of 3 years general office administration is required; 1 year within a Philanthropy department is preferred
- Database software program administration and maintenance, with Raiser’s Edge (RE) and online fundraising platform knowledge, training or equivalent experience an asset
- Fundraising experience an asset
- Experience working with volunteers is an asset or required?
- Not-for-profit experience or background in environmental non-governmental organizations an asset
Knowledge required to perform duties:
- Knowledge of current environmental issues and willingness to stay up-to-date on these issues
- Proficiency in Raiser’s Edge database
- Understanding of Ethical and Imagine Canada Fundraising principles and CRA guidelines, Charitable Tax Law
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office and other office administration software
