We’re looking for a Social Media Lead to join our Marketing Team. This is a full-time communications role with a focus on social media platform management, content creation, campaign execution, and digital storytelling to build and manage Nada’s online and in-person communities. The right person is excited about taking action for the climate, wants to work for a company that is driving positive systems change, and considers themselves an ‘action’ person. We’re looking for someone who loves storytelling, is solutions-oriented, and can take initiative in an ever-changing start-up environment.

Nada is a package-free grocery store & delivery service on a mission to connect people to just food – championing a community food system by linking buyers to suppliers and offering healthy, unpackaged products in upcycled containers. The Role
Nada’s Marketing Team is responsible for education and storytelling. In addition to content creation, social media management, and digital campaign management, the Social Media Lead will play an essential role in communicating Nada’s impact, mission, and values. Reporting directly to the Marketing Manager, you will be working closely with our Digital Media Lead, Graphic Designer, and Videographer. You will play an integral role in making sure that Nada’s customers, communities, and partners are happy and stoked to be a part of the package-free movement!
Responsibilities
- Manage, coordinate, and execute purpose-driven social media marketing campaigns and calendars, from ideation to execution
- Grow Nada’s audiences both online and in-store to drive traffic to our online store, retail store, and website
- Write copy for all social media channels, blog posts, and newsletters & develop social media toolkits
- Translate company impact metrics and supply chain stories into social media posts and newsletters
- Provide customer support and strategic engagement for customers using social media platforms as a communication channel
- Build and execute social media campaigns for online events and workshops, in order to ensure we’re engaging pre, during, and post-events
- Identify social content collaboration and takeover opportunities with influencers and partners
- Lead on measurement and delivery of all social media KPIs monthly, quarterly and annually to continuously refine the plan in order to deliver and exceed our goals
What a Week in this Role Could Look Like
- Contacting 1% for the Planet partners for event ideation and content creation
- Coordinating and facilitating online events, panel discussions, or workshops with suppliers & community partners
- Building online relationships with brand advocates, partners and customers, while bringing Nada’s voice to all correspondence
- Spending time identifying ways we can support & amplify suppliers & community partners, with a focus on topics surrounding food systems, circular economy, food equity & justice, and waste reduction
- Identifying and being reactive to social media trends and opportunities – if you know the Bernie mittens meme you’re on the right track!
Desired Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum 3-5 years experience in communications, copywriting, journalism or marketing; relevant experience in the food industry is an asset
- Diploma or undergraduate degree in Marketing or Communications
- Strong technical proficiency working in both Mac and PC environments, and expert skills using the latest software packages, including Adobe Creative Suite
- Up-to-date on the latest standards, changes, and trends in copy, SEO, and visual design
- Demonstrated ability to stay organized and work independently; ability to give and receive valuable design feedback
- Exceptional communication and people skills; demonstrated ability to manage customer, community, and supplier relationships and obtain required information when necessary
- Ability to communicate scientific information to general audiences and posting accurately while using best practices.
- Self-driven and motivated to take initiative, solve problems, and improve processes
- Team-player with excellent interpersonal skills and a positive attitude
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including impeccable spelling and grammar;
- Experience with Later, photography, and paid social media advertising are an asset
Compensation, Benefits, and Work Environment
- Compensation based on experience, $45K – $55K/year
