How might we design a new hybrid workspace that fosters collaborative, innovative, and spontaneous “human moments”?
Over the past year, many traditional office environments have shifted to working from home due to public health restrictions. While some organizations may feel that there is no need to go back to an office space, a physical office can actually act as a valuable and informal hub that encourages dynamic collaboration, innovative ideas, and creative problem solving. Remember the energy and creativity you experienced when collaborating with multiple teams in-person? Or that casual conversation with a colleague over coffee that sparked a solution to a tricky problem you’d been wrestling with? Designing a hybrid workplace which allows employees the safety and flexibility of remote work while also providing a central physical space which fosters collaborative and innovative “human moments” is an exciting new possibility and challenge before us.
Join us at Real Talk where we will be sharing insights, case studies, and tools on how to co-create a resilient hybrid office future that offers an equal employee experience whether working virtually or in-office as well as making people excited, rather than reluctant, about going into the office. Together, we will unpack some of the toughest ongoing and upcoming challenges and turn them into our greatest opportunities:
- Hiring and Onboarding: What does sourcing talent outside our normal location-based candidate pool do for our organizations? How might we build and maintain trust and camaraderie when onboarding in a virtual or hybrid setting?
- Employee Well-Being and Flexible/Inclusive Work Policies: Working from home has actually led to increased worker burnout with lack of separation between work and home cited as one of the main reasons. We will explore how to support employee well-being through inclusive and flexible work policies in a way that positively reinforces a healthy work/life balance.
- A Space for Creative Collaboration: Reimagine your space as a cultural touchpoint where the primary purpose is to encourage creative collaboration and spark innovative thinking, not just a central location to complete work. We’ll talk about purposeful design, virtual tools, co-working spaces, and readjusting your budgetary priorities to meet these new needs.
In the session we will:
- Learn about emerging insights.
- Co-create and ideate in small groups, share experiences and challenges, and learn from each other.
- Explore how we engage with our people and how to re-design work through a people-centered lens.
- Establish commitments to change and a plan for accountability.
