About this Event
CALLING ALL CIRCULAR APPAREL ALLIES!
If you have interest in and insights on the question “How might we divert textiles from landfills, and move BC’s textile industry towards circularity?” then this event is for you! This event is the precursor to our 2-year social innovation lab.
TOGETHER WE CAN GO FURTHER, FASTER
This is a call… Textile designers, manufacturers, retailers, collectors, recyclers, policy makers, consumers, upcyclers, adjacent industries — join us in realizing the epic potential of collaboration to create economies of scale and lasting systems change in the textiles industry.
WHAT IS THE TEXTILE LAB FOR CIRCULARITY?
The Textile Lab for Circularity is a platform that connects unlikely allies across BC to divert textile waste from landfills, and move the industry towards circularity. The TLC envisions a thriving circular apparel economy in BC by 2031. To achieve this, the TLC facilitates a 2-year social innovation lab process, membership platform, and a series of innovation workshops surrounding the topic of textile waste.
The TLC is a collaborative project between the charity SPEC and the B Corp, Leverage Lab.
WHAT IS THE LEVERAGE CAMP?
A half-day workshop facilitated by Sara Blenkhorn, where we tackle the question of “How might we divert textiles from landfills, and move BC’s textile industry towards circularity?”, and “hack” potential collaborative solutions. CAMP participants will pool their diverse expertise to brainstorm possible solutions. These solutions will be carried forward into the 2-year Lab. CAMP participants will network with likeminded folks, have the opportunity to pitch an idea, and dive deep into strategies for real systems change.
Come prepared to share your ideas and dive deep, to collaboratively develop a roadmap towards textile circularity in BC!
